From Leading the Laps to a Let Down for Hathaway

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, July 28, 2016 – Jason Hathaway and his #3 Raybestos/HGC Chevrolet were hoping to turn their season around at the mid-week event at Wyant Group Raceway in Saskatoon on Wednesday night, but instead faced another let down.

Hathaway and his team fine-tuned their machine during practice and Hathaway qualified 8th in the starting lineup for the 250 lap event. Hathaway’s race car was fast and made quick work of the cars in front of him as he moved up the running order. On lap 75, Hathaway earned 2nd position with a great restart and by lap 92 was leading the pack around the 1/3 mile oval.

Hathaway led the field 49 laps and finally settled into 2nd place, saving his equipment. During the caution, with 33 laps to go, Hathaway radioed to his crew that he had a vibration and there was something wrong with the rear of the car. Crew Chief Craig Masters brought Hathaway down pit road and diagnosed a broken axel. The part failure would end their night, with a potential podium finish slipping from their grasp.

“We had a car here that we could have won with tonight. We have had a wicked string of bad luck this season and I hate it for this team and our sponsors. The boys worked hard to get this car right after the accident in Edmonton and we had a great thing going tonight,” said a disappointed Hathaway after the race.

Rough Start to Western Swing for Hathaway

Wetaskwin, Alberta- July 23, 2016- The first stop on the annual western swing at Edmonton International Speedway for Jason Hathaway and his NASCAR Pinty’s Series #3 Raybestos/Fast Eddie Chevrolet was a tough one for the Team.

The 2015 NASCAR Canada Most Popular Driver set to work as soon as the green flag flew and was making steady progress towards the front when he was slammed by another car and sent into the outside wall. The hard hit ended Hathaway’s night at lap 103. Ending the race early came as a disappointment to Team 3 Red’s driver. “The car was decent and we had a lot of racing to do tonight,” he explained. “I was looking forward to giving our season a good boost with a solid finish tonight. It’s too bad, the guys work hard and we appreciate all the support we get from our sponsors, families, and fans that follow up each and every week.”

Shaking off their disappointment, the team will take their race machine to Wyant Group Raceway near Saskatoon, Saskatchewan for the (always sold out) mid-week event on Wednesday, July 27th.

T3R/EHR is also proud to be partnered with sponsors Raybestos, Fast Eddie Racewear, The Harman Group, DSI, Choko Motorsports, and BIO 2000 Pressure Wash.

11TH PLACE FOR HATHAWAY AT PINTY’S GRAND PRIX

Toronto, Ontario July 16, 2016– Hathaway and his #3 Raybestos/Fast Eddie Racewear Chevrolet returned to the Honda Indy Toronto this season on the 5th stop of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series on Saturday afternoon.

Starting from the 10th starting position Hathaway wasted no time moving up the running order. By the end of the first corner of the opening lap Hathaway was P9 and made steady progress each and every lap. Just before the half way point of the race Hathaway made an aggressive move on the 4th place car, but couldn’t quite make it stick and spun the car in the corner. Hathaway fired the car back up, but lost quite a few spots.

A late race caution limited the laps Hathaway had to make up those lost positions, but managed to make it all the way back up to 11th in the running order as the checkered flag flew on the 35 lap event.

“The car was really well balanced and I’m proud of what we achieved this weekend. We made steady moves towards the front and were running in the top 4 and that shows again what this team is capable of. Graham put a great set up in the car and all of my guys gave me a great car today. We had a lot of fun this weekend and that is what our team needed after the last few weeks!” Said Hathaway after the race.

The Team will make the annual trip out west this week with their first of two events taking place at Wetaskiwin Speedway south of Edmonton, Alberta on Saturday July 23rd. They will trek further east to Saskatoon to Wyatt International Speedway for the mid-week appearance on July 27th

T3R/EHR is also proud to be partnered with sponsors Raybestos Brakes, Fast Eddie Racewear, The Harman Group, DSI, Choko Motorsports and BIO 2000 Pressure Wash.

Tough Luck at ICAR for Hathaway

Mirabel, Quebec, July 3, 2016 – Jason Hathaway and his #3 Raybestos/DSI Chevrolet returned to the province of Quebec for the 2nd road course event on the 2016 NASCAR Pinty’s Series schedule this weekend at Circuit ICAR.

Hathaway did well in the first practice and the 2nd practice was rained out. Qualifying in the tight field Hathaway landed an 11th place starting spot. The 30 lap event got underway midafternoon and Hathaway found his rhythm and set to work moving up to 10th on the first corner.

The teams luck came to a halt on lap 4 when Hathaway reported in that he had a broken axle and had to come down to the pit road under green flag conditions for repairs. The Team worked hard and got him back out onto the track. Hathaway laid down some great laps; good enough for 6th spot, for the rest of the race, but unfortunately he wasn’t able to get his laps back as the race only had 1 caution.

“We had a tough day today. We have a great maintenance program with our equipment, but parts can break. The boys did a god job of repairing the car. This race historically doesn’t have many cautions and today was no different. It is hard to get laps back here,” said Hathaway.

The Team have a few weeks off before the 5th race of the season at the Honda Indy Toronto. The event takes place on the temporary road course through the streets of Toronto July 16th.
