HATHAWAY POSTS WIN & 2ND PLACE AT FLAMBORO

Millgrove, ON- August 29, 2019 —  With a strong showing at Sunset Speedway a few weeks ago, where he dominated the weekend, Hathaway and his #3 Kubota Chevrolet were focused on continuing their on-track success at Flamboro Speedway Saturday for the 3rd and 4th races of the 2020 NASCAR Pinty’s Series FanCave Challenge on Saturday.

The EHR team came off the trailer strong in practice and pulled a pole position starting spot in the random draw for the Pinty’s 125 later in the afternoon.

In the race, Hathaway was once again the class of the field leading every lap and posted some pretty wicked lap times. He went flag to flag in the 125-lap event and brought home his second win of the 2020 NPS season.

“We are pretty happy with our car today. Our #3 Kubota Chevrolet handled awesome and we able to pull away from the field. This is a great way to kick off the day of racing here at Flamboro and to celebrate my daughter Macy’s birthday as well,” said Hathaway in victory lane.

The Team also raced in the PartyCasino 125 later Saturday afternoon starting 4th in the lineup. Hathaway had an excellent start and wheeled his way into 3rd with the drop of the green flag. He settled into 3rd and by lap 67 had taken over 2nd place in the running order. A long green-flag run ensued and despite his best efforts, Hathaway finished 2nd in the race.

Hathaway was pleased with the success of the team’s weekend. “I am super proud of the entire team and all of the hard work and shop prep that has gone into our EHR equipment this season. We really wanted to take home another win here tonight, but we will take the 2nd place and get ready for Jukasa in a few weeks.”

After the weekend’s results, Hathaway is leading the points in the FanCave Challenge.

The Pinty’s 125 will air on TSN on Sunday, September 6th at 430 pm EST and the PartyCasino 125 will air on TSN on Saturday, September 12 at noon. They will also be aired on RDS & RDS2 and MAVTV in the US.

The NASCAR Pinty’s Series will head to Jukasa Motor Speedway in Hagersville, Ontario on September 12th for the season finale twin 125 lap events.

HATHAWAY WINS CANADIAN TIRE 125 AT SUNSET SPEEDWAY

Innisfil, ON- August 15, 2019- After a prolonged off-season Hathaway and his #3 Kubota Chevrolet were ready to kick their 2020 race season off strong and showed their intentions coming off of the trailer with a fast car, dominating the on-track activity and bringing home a win.

Hathaway did well in practice and his team fine-tuned their race machine. Under the 2020 race format, the team randomly pulled their starting position and they started the 1st of 2 -125 lap races in the 3rd starting position.

In the first race, The QwickWick 125, it didn’t take Hathaway long to find his rhythm around the .333-mile oval track, taking the lead on lap 2, fell back to 2nd for a 20-lap segment early on and taking the lead back on lap 31.  Hathaway had an excellent car and it was the class of the field. As the laps clicked down on the race, Hathaway was deliberately spun on the last 3 restarts of the race while leading. With some awesome driving, Hathaway kept his car off the wall each time but was relegated to a 9th place finishing spot.

During the 30-minute break between races, the team prepped the car for the 2nd event the Canadian Tire 125 with fuel, tires and a few minor adjustments. Hathaway put his misfortune behind him for the 2nd 125 lap race and focused on winning.

The random starting draw placed Hathaway 5th in the starting order and again he dominated the race, taking the lead on lap 25 and never looked back.  He put a comfortable gap between himself and the rest of the field and lapped cars up to 4th place in the running order.  Hathaway brought his #3 Kubota Chevrolet home to victory lane with a blistering 4.8 second lead over the rest of the field.

“We had a great car for both races. Its too bad that we were targeted like we were in the first one but that’s fine, we showed our strength and preparation in the 2nd race bringing home the win, the checkered flag and the trophy for Kubota and our new partners Kugel Bearing and Total Lubricants. It’s also our car owner Ed’s birthday on Monday, so this isn’t a bad gift for him.” said a happy Hathaway in victory lane.

The QwickWick 125 will broadcast on TSN on Sunday, August 23rd at 12 noon and the Canadian Tire 125 will air on TSN on Saturday, August 29 at 2 pm. They will also be aired on RDS & RDS2 and MAVTV in the US.

The full season will be live-streamed in Canada and the USA on TSN.ca and TrackPass on NBC Sports Gold respectively.

The NASCAR Pinty’s Series will head to Flamboro Speedway near Hamilton, Ontario on Saturday, August 29th for the next doubleheader 125 lap races.

The 2020 Nascar Pinty’s Series Returns

On Tuesday, August 4th, NASCAR announced an updated schedule for the 2020 NASCAR Pinty’s Series, comprised of three twin-125 race weekends. The six-race season will feature two races apiece, beginning at Sunset Speedway on August 15th, followed by Flamboro Speedway on August 29th and the season finale at Jukasa Speedway on September 12th. In adherence to local, provincial and federal guidelines, no spectators will be permitted to attend.

Due to the shortened schedule, no Pinty’s Series champion or Rookie of the Year will be crowned in 2020. However, there will be special recognition for the overall winner of the shortened season based on points earned.

“While we are disappointed that we are unable to run our intended schedule in front of fans, we’re looking forward to the return of racing in Canada,” said Chad Seigler, NASCAR vice president of international business development and partnerships. “I want to thank our friends at Pinty’s for helping us get back on the race track. We are working closely with local and provincial officials and our teams and drivers to put on safe events that are respectful of new regulations from the ongoing pandemic.”

All races will air delayed on TSN and RDS in Canada and MAVTV in the United States. The full broadcast schedule, including start times, will be released at a later date.
