Connor Bell Wins NASCAR Canada Series Debut and Makes History

Stouffville, ON – July 28th,2025 – 19-year-old Ottawa native, Connor Bell made an unforgettable entrance into the NASCAR Canada Series this past weekend in the #3 Dymon Foundations/Eastrock Equipment/Nepean Building Chevrolet. He captured victory in his debut race with Ed Hakonson Racing at Calabogie Motorsports Park—his hometown track and history in the NASCAR Canada Series.

Bell kicked off the weekend with a strong showing, finishing 8th in the opening practice session before setting the fastest time in final practice. He continued to impress in qualifying, securing a 5th-place starting position for Sunday’s main event.

Despite an early setback due to a pit road speeding penalty, Bell and the #3 team remained composed. With quick, strategic pit stops and consistent pace, Bell clawed his way back through the field. In the closing laps, he took the lead and never looked back. His first win in the NASCAR Canada Series and the inaugural race at Calabogie Motorsports Park.

Bell said “I couldn’t have asked for a better team to run my first NASCAR Canada race with. The boys and girls at EHR did an unbelievable job all weekend long giving me a fast and reliable car, along with excellent calls on the box to give us a shot at the win late in the race. It takes a village to get these things done and to pull off a win on my debut race is an incredible feeling, something I’ll cherish for a long time to come. This one was for Ed. Let’s do it again!”

The win marks a major milestone for Bell, who has quickly established himself as a rising star in Canadian motorsports and will hopefully be back racing with the series soon.

Fans can watch all the action from this past weekend at Calabogie Motorsport’s Park on REV TV, TVA Sports and TSN. The next event for EHR will be August 2nd, 2025 at Autodrome Chaudière. Stouffville, ON – July 21st, 2025 – Jason Hathaway made his return to Riverside International Speedway this past weekend, competing in the IWK 250, Canada’s biggest late model race. It marked his first appearance in the iconic event since 2017 in the #3 Choko Authentics/Fast Eddie Speedwear/Leland Industries Chevrolet

The race weekend began with practice sessions on the high-banked 1/3-mile oval, where Hathaway and the team made several key adjustments throughout the sessions. Hathaway wrapped up practice in 13th position in a highly competitive field.

Next up were time trials, which determined the heat race starting positions. Hathaway posted the 20th fastest time, landing him in the second heat. He ran a strong race in his qualifier, finishing 4th and locking himself into the feature event with a starting position of 20th on the grid.

The opening stages of the IWK 250 proved to be a challenge, as Hathaway struggled to gain momentum. However, during the halfway break, the team went to work and made some valuable adjustments that improved the car’s handling and speed. With a stronger second half, Hathaway battled through traffic and brought the car home with a solid 13th-place finish.

“It felt great to be back at Riverside for the IWK 250,” said Hathaway. “This supports an incredible cause and it’s an honour to be part of it. The fans, the atmosphere and the energy at this event are first class. It’s been a while since we’ve ran this event, but I’m glad we were able to make it this year and bring the car home clean.”
