August 31, 2012- Uxbridge, Ontario– Driver the #3 Snap-on Tools/Rockstar Energy Drink/Vortex Brake Pads Dodge Jason Hathaway will be making a special appearance at a different kind of race track this weekend. South Buxton Raceway “Southwestern Ontario’s Fastest 3/8” near Chatham will host Hathaway Saturday night in a Windride Transportation Sport Stock dirt car.
Hathaway will have his Ed Hakonson Racing NCTS race machine on display on the grandstand side at the track and fans will have the chance to meet the Canadian Tire Series NASCAR driver before the racing action gets underway. Hathaway will climb behind the wheel of the #3 Super Stock decked out in a similar paint scheme to his NCTS #3 Snap-on Tools/Rockstar Energy Drink Dodgeon Saturday night.
Hathaway is looking forward to having some fun in the dirt this weekend. “I can’t wait to get on the track and see how cool this racing on dirt is. I’ve been to one dirt track in my life and have one dirt track race under my belt. Our hauler driver Jim races at South Buxton and he invited me to come join them for a night. I love getting back to the grassroots racing on my weekends off from the NCTS car and this should be pretty cool.”
The NCTS Team will be back in action on asphalt ovals next weekend at Barrie Speedway September 8th.
August 18, 2012- Montreal, Quebec– After a disappointing run at Trois Riviers, Hathaway in his #3 Snap-on Tools/Rockstar Energy Drink/Vortex Brake Pads Dodge was hoping for a good run at the last road course event of the season at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve this weekend.
Practice for the team was shortened due to a NASCAR timing error during the 1 hour practice session. Despite the glitch and having limited time to tune on their car Hathaway managed to post a 11th place fast time of the speed charts in a deep field of single appearance road racers.
The teams’ weekend hit a speed bump during qualifying on Friday when Hathaway posted 2 laps, 18th fastest, and then felt a vibration in the motor. He shut it down and came onto pit road to the attention of his crew. The team took the car back to paddock area and went to work right away to replace the motor in preparation for Saturday’s race.
Hathaway was looking forward to the race. “Our guys did a great job getting the motor changed and we should be good for the race.”
Unfortunately, Hathaway’s engine troubles followed him into the 23 lap main event around the historic Circuit de Gilles Villeneuve. With the drop of the green flag, Hathaway could not get his car up to its normal quick speed and the motor wasn’t running on all cylinders. Crew Chief Craig Masters bought the car down pit road to change a number of things on the car to see if they could solve the miss. The crew did a great job changing the battery, the carburetor and the spark plugs, but were not able to solve the issue on pit road.
Hathaway went back onto the track and picked up a few positions finishing 26th in a large field of 35 cars.
Hathaway was disappointed with the run at Montreal. “We didn’t even get a chance to race this weekend and show what we can do on the road courses.” He said. “I’m very proud of our road course efforts this year and this wasn’t the way we wanted to end it. We will diagnose the issue we had today back at the shop, put the bad luck behind us and finish up the next 3 races strong.”

August 5, 2012- Trois-Rivieres, Quebec – Jason Hathaway in his #3 Snap-on Tools/Rockstar Energy Drink/Vortex Brake Pads Dodge once again showed that hard work and a great team are essential to be successful in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. Hathaway was on track for a great finish until a part failure ended his day in the JuliaWine.com 100 at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres this past weekend.
Practice went well for the team, posting a 6th on the speed charts and Hathaway was happy with his race machine on Saturday afternoon. Hathaway qualified 11th in a deep field of 32 competitors. With a stable car underneath him Hathaway wasn’t concerned about his starting spot.
“Qualifying was a little off where we wanted to be, but that’s okay. It is a long race and we are pretty confident with the setup we have. Hopefully the weather holds off tomorrow.” Said Hathaway on Saturday afternoon.
Looming storms and rain moved in a Sunday afternoon and caused problem for teams. Thunder and lightning along with torrential rain stopped the race just after the wave of the green flag and Teams and drivers took shelter and waited out the 2 hour rain delay.
Once racing got underway, Hathaway slipped back in the field after being spun out. He gathered it back up and started his trek towards the front. After a long green flag run, Hathaway had worked his way up to the 11th spot by lap 22. With some great driving and steady rhythm Hathaway earned numerous positions and was running 5th with 8 laps to go.
Unfortunately, Hathaway’s luck ran out with only 4 laps to go, while passing for 4th spot, when a part failure caused Hathaway to drop back in the field and finish 15th.
Hathaway summed up the team’s day. “We have had some bad luck the last 2 events. We are strong though as a team and we will battle back. Our car was pretty good today and super-fast. We are showing that we can contend for wins lately and that means a lot in this series with the tough competition each and every week.”

July 25th, 2012 – Saskatoon, Saskatchewan-After posting 3 podium finishes in as many races, Jason Hathaway in his #3 Snap-on Tools/Rockstar Energy Drink/Vortex Brake Pads Dodge had his streak come to a heartbreaking end at Auto Clearing Motor Speedway in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
After practice the team was sitting 6th on the speed charts. With a tight qualifying field, Hathaway qualified 9th.
“We are starting 9th, but the car is good and we have 250 laps to save our stuff and we will be there at the end at the front at the end.” Said Hathaway after qualifying.
Once the green flag was dropped, as with previous races, it didn’t take Hathaway long to make his way up through the field.
Crew Chief Craig Masters called Hathaway down pit road for fuel and a chassis adjustment on lap 77 that improved Hathaway’s car and set him up for a long green flag run.
On lap 131, Hathaway brought his race machine down pit road for right side tires. The crew did a great job and sent him out 3rd in the running order.
Hathaway set his focus on the lead and earned 2nd on lap 145. With a superb re start by Hathaway he challenged for the lead and pulled into the top spot on lap 161.
Hathaway earned valuable points for leading the field and pulled away from the second and third place cars.

The awesome string of finishes came to a grinding halt for the team when on the re-start on lap 195, Hathaway felt something break in the rear end of his car.
Hathaway was relegated to the pits to the attention of his crew where they diagnosed a broken suspension part. He finished a heart breaking 21st. Although the race did not turn out the way the Team wanted Hathaway did maintain his 5th spot in the Championship points battle.
Hathaway was disappointed with the finish, but excited about the team’s momentum. “We had a wicked car tonight and I was comfortable with the car out front leading. A finish like this is hard for our team. We found something in the last 3 races and to have the western swing end like this is heartbreaking. I am so proud of my guys though. They give me all they have each weekend. We have shown just how strong our team is this season and that we are in the hunt up front. We will be back up front again.”
The Team will have a weekend off before their next event August 4 & 5 at the GP3R in Trois Rivieres, Quebec.
The Velocity Prairie Thunder 250 from Saskatoon will air on TSN2 on Saturday August 4th at 6:30PM Eastern.

July 22, 2012 – Edmonton, Alberta – Jason Hathaway in his #3 Snap-on Tools/ Rockstar Energy Drink/Vortex Brake Pads Dodge once again backed up his podium finish at Motoplex Speedway with a 2nd place finish at the Edmonton 100 Sunday morning!
With this being the first visit for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series since 2010, the newly configured 2.256-mile, 13 turn road course at the Edmonton City Centre Airport, Hathaway used the track walk and practice sessions to work through the course.
“This looks like it will be a pretty fast track. There are some long straight-aways and a few hairpins, which should make this fun on Sunday with all of us on track!” Hathaway commented after final practice on Saturday afternoon.
In a deep field of competitors separated by 10ths of a second Hathaway qualified 8th for the 28 lap event.
Hathaway Posts Another Podium At Edmonton
As with any road course the first turn of the first lap is always key and Hathaway did a great job getting through the initial turn and working his way through the field. By the half-way point Hathaway had his race machine up to 6th and was steadily gaining time on the leaders every lap.
Some great driving and a great handling race car in the closing laps of the race showed Hathaway’s road course talent. He out braked and out drove his competitors into corner 1 and moved up to 4th.
With a great restart after a late race caution Hathaway drove his way through a wild pack of spinning cars and moved into 2nd place. On the last restart of the race, with only 1 lap to go, Hathaway put the pressure on the lead car and gave the fans a great show.
“This was a great day today for this team. We ran top 5 all day and we just kept digging each lap. It got a little wild at the end, but we made it through and brought this Team home another podium finish! Thanks to all of our sponsors and we are proud of our finish today. It was great to come back to Edmonton with this new track configuration and all the awesome fans!” Said Hathaway in Victory Lane after the race.
The Edmonton Indy 100 will be aired on TSN2 on Saturday July 28th at 3pm EST.

July 15, 2012 – Vernon, British Columbia – Jason Hathaway, in his #3 Snap-on Tools/Rockstar Energy Drink/Vortex Brake Pads Dodge traveled this week to the first of three races in Western Canada. Hathaway backed up his podium finish last event at Delaware Speedway with another podium finish at the A & W 300 at Motoplex in Vernon, BC.

The day did not start off very well for the team as they chased the set up in their car right off the trailer.
Hathaway wasn’t happy overall with his day leading up to qualifying. “We have had great luck here in years before. We are 7th in practice, but I am not 100% happy with our car for tonight. We will have some work to do in the 300 lap event.”
Hathaway gave his team a lift when he placed his #3 Snap-on Tools/Rockstar Energy Drink/Vortex Brake Pads Dodge 6th on the qualifying grid for the 300 lap event.
Off the top of the race Hathaway held his own and moved up to 5th in the running order. Unfortunately, the issues that the team had faced earlier in the day in practice began to crop back up. Crew Chief Craig Masters was able to make an adjustment on lap 88, but a long green flag run saw Hathaway go down a lap down to the leaders on lap 152.
Hathaway’s luck stared to come around when on lap 156 the caution flag came back out and Hathaway was awarded the free pass, placing him back on the lead lap. The next caution period finally allowed Hathaway to come to the attention of his over the wall crew taking on right side tires, fuel and left side tires in 3 separate pit stops.
With new tires and a tank full of fuel Hathaway restarted in the 12th spot. Posting consecutive fast laps, Hathaway was a man on a mission working his way back up through the field. He was able to put his car anywhere on the track and made passes on the high and low side of the track. By lap 213 Hathaway was 2nd in the running order. A great battle between Hathaway and the 22 car ensured as the two challenged each other for the 2nd spot. Hathaway pulled away from Steckley and brought home the team’s 2nd podium finish in as many events.
“Our finish tonight goes to show that you can never give up. We had a really bad set of tires and the car would not respond to what we threw at it earlier on. Going a lap down was not great, but when we were able to finally get tires and fuel we were on rails. The car was great and our guys did an amazing job making three stops and getting me what we needed. We have had a great start to the western swing.” Said a happy Hathaway in victory lane.
With this 2nd place finish Hathaway moves into 5th place in the overall championship points standings.
The A &W 300 will be aired on TSN on July 22nd at 5pm EST. The team’s next event will be July 20th, 21st and 22nd as part of the Edmonton Indy in Edmonton, Alberta.

July 6, 2012, -Stouffville, Ontario – Jason Hathaway, NASCAR Canadian Tire Series driver of the #3 Snap-on Tools/Rockstar Energy Drink/Vortex Brake Pads Dodge has confirmed that he will be running a Late Model stock car in the Summer Sizzler 150 this Friday evening at Kawartha Speedway.
Hathaway will be behind the wheel of the #61H Rockstar Energy Drink / Vortex Brake Pads / King Brewery Chevrolet owned by Bryan Watts Motorsports out of Uxbridge, Ontario.
Coming off of an impressive 3rd place finish at Delaware Speedway in his last NASCAR Canadian Tire race, Hathaway is looking forward to Friday’s event.
“I can’t wait to run at Kawartha on Friday in this event; this is one of the biggest Late Model races in Ontario” Said Hathaway. “We have the weekend off from the NASCAR Series and this is a great way to keep in racing shape for our Western swing starting next weekend. June 24, 2012 – Komoka, Ontario –Home town favourite, Jason Hathaway, in his #3 Snap-on Tools/Rockstar Energy Drink/Vortex Brake Pads Dodge returned to his home track of Delaware Speedway on Saturday with a podium finish in mind and he didn’t disappoint his fans or his team.
Hailing from southwestern Ontario, Hathaway made his mark on the racing scene running street stock all the way up to late model. His experience at this track and feel helped him practice near the top of the speed chart on Saturday afternoon. A twitchy racecar after a delay in the qualifying process landed Hathaway 10th in the starting line-up for the EMCO 200.
Hathaway wasn’t discouraged by their starting spot. “The car was off in qualifying, but that is okay, we have 200 laps and the car will be good once we start racing.”

Starting 10th, Hathaway went straight to work with the wave of the green flag. Hathaway came in on lap 56 for fuel and to repair some front end damage to the car that happened when passing a lapped car and set his sight back on the leaders. By the half-way point Hathaway was 5th. On lap 150 Hathaway came in for right side tires and a chassis adjustment to free his racing machine up and raced his way up into 4th.
In a strange turn of events the power on the front straight went out and the race was red flagged. When the lights came back on Hathaway showed his talent and the crowd saw some great side by side racing that earned Hathaway the 3rd spot with 40 laps to go. He held off some great challenges and posted his first podium of the 2012 season in his #3 Snap-on Tools/Rockstar Energy Drink/Vortex Brake Pads Dodge.
“We had a great night tonight and this team is building momentum for the Western swing coming up! It feels good to be running up front at Delaware in front of friends, family and my sponsors. The guys were strong on pit road and the crew did great job getting the hood off the racecar when we came in for fuel. We love coming back here and running like we did tonight. Thanks to all the fans for sticking around to watch a heck of a finish after the power went out at the track tonight.” Said Hathaway in Victory Lane after the race.
Hathaway’s 3rd place helped to propel the team up to 6th in the new point’s standings with four races out of twelve complete. The team will make their annual trek to the western part of Canada in few weeks’ time racing at Motorplex near Vernon, BC on July 14th, Edmonton Indy on July 22nd and Auto Clearing Motor Speedway in Saskatoon on July 25th.

June 17, 2012-Bowmanville, Ontario – Jason Hathaway, in his #3 Snap-on Tools/Rockstar Energy Drink/Vortex Brake Pads Dodge was looking forward to getting back to the oval tracks this weekend in hopes of redeeming the Team after a disappointing race at I-CAR 2 weeks ago.

The car practiced well, posting a 5th place on the speed charts at the first oval track of the 2012 schedule. Hathaway tuned on his racing machine to get it comfortable for the long 200 lap event.
“We have done some testing with our oval car and I think what we have been learning will help us here tonight. Vortex Brake Pads is the presenting sponsor for tonight’s race and it is great to see some of our customers here.” Said Hathaway after practice on Saturday afternoon.
The Team also hosted some special guests; Alan Smith and James Eaton who were the lucky bidders for a “Day at the Races” with the E.H.R team during an auction at the Big Brothers Big Sisters of York Gala held last November.
Hathaway posted a wicked qualifying time and lined his #3 Snap-on Tools/ Rockstar Energy Drink/Vortex Brake Pads Dodge up in the 6th starting spot at the 1/2 mile oval. The beginning of the race was plagued by cautions, but Hathaway used them to his advantage working his way up to the front. By lap 16 he was running in the 3rd spot and working into his rhythm.
A long green flag run before the half way point saw Hathaway’s car tightened up and Hathaway had to back out of the throttle and wait for a caution to make some adjustments to the car. Caution flew on lap 117 and Crew Chief Craig Masters brought Hathaway down pit road for tires and a chassis adjustment. The over the wall crew did a great job and helped Hathaway to pick up 2 spots coming off of pit road!
Just past the 150 lap mark, Hathaway turned up the heat and made a run for the end. He ran hard, chasing down the 6th and 7th place cars. Hathaway made a great move going through corner 2 with 5 laps to go pulling into 5th. Hathaway put some distance between himself and the 6th place car and recorded the team’s first top 5 of the 3 race old season.
Hathaway was proud of his team and their finish. “This was a great finish tonight. We raced hard, adjusted on the car and the guys had a great tire stop that really helped us. Our Hauler driver and spotter Phil wasn’t able to be here tonight and we are all thinking about him. Hopefully he is feeling better soon! This as a great night with Vortex here and all of our family, my daughters and our friends to celebrate Father’s Day weekend!”
The Clarington 200 Presented by Vortex Brake Pads will air on TSN on Sunday June 24 at 1pm EST and the will premiere on RDS2 Wednesday July 22th at 10pm EST.
The E.H.R. team will be right back at it this coming weekend at Delaware Speedway on Saturday June 23, for the EMCO 200 presented by Niagara Plumbing Supply and McKeough Supply.
