Heartbreak For Hathaway at Honda Indy Toronto

July 18, 2010-Toronto, Ontario- Jason Hathaway, EHR/T3R and the #3 Snap-on Tools/Rockstar Energy Drink Dodge pulled into the paddock area at the Honda Indy Toronto for the forth stop on the 2010 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series this weekend.

This was the first time Hathaway had seen the tight 11 turn temporary street course along Lakeshore Boulevard and through the CNE grounds in Toronto.  Hathaway used the practice and qualifying sessions to learn the course and sort out shift patterns and braking zones.

“This is a tough track to learn in such a short period of time. It is pretty fast and the end of the Lakeshore will be the place to watch because it is fast and it ends with a hard right hand turn. “ Said Hathaway after qualifying 18th in the field.

As the race unfolded on Saturday afternoon, with live coverage on TSN, Hathaway had a steady run going working through the course and staying out of trouble. With only 2 laps to go in the 35 lap event Hathaway reported in that his #3 Snap-on Tools/Rockstar Energy Drink Dodge had quit running out on the track. He safely coasted his car into one of the run off areas and the team finished a tough 22nd in the finishing order.

Hathaway was disappointed with the day’s results.  “This is a tough finish for us this weekend.  We had a solid top 15 finish in hand that would have not only have kept us in the hunt in the points championship, but also ensured that our car was in one piece to take to Edmonton on Monday. I did however learn a lot this weekend about this track for next year.  We will regroup and prepare for the western swing to Edmonton, Vernon and Saskatoon.  I enjoy running those tracks and we should be able to bounce back out there.”

The NASCAR Canadian Tire teams will next head west for three races in western Canada.  Round five for EHR/T3R will be on the flat temporary road course through the Edmonton Municipal Airport in Edmonton, Alberta.  The Team will then take their #3 Snap-on Tools/Rockstar Energy Drink Dodge to the Motorplex in Vernon, British Columbia and the Auto Clearing Motorspeedway in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

EHR/T3R is proud to be partnered with Snap-on Tools, Rockstar Energy Drink, Vortex Brake Pads, DSC Security Products, Napoleon Grills, Farmers Feed Families line of clothing, Castrol, Cathcart Trucking, Fast Eddie Racewear, Choko Authentic  Apparel , Impact Canopies and Praxair.  For more information on EHR/T3R check out the site at www.team3red.com

July 4, 2010- Eustache, Quebec– Jason Hathaway, EHR/T3R and the #3 Snap-on Tools/Rockstar Energy Drink Dodge arrived at St Eustache, Quebec north of Montreal for the third stop on the 2010 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series this weekend.

Hathaway, with numerous laps at St Eustache running a late model, and the Team was looking for a great weekend result.  Practice was a struggle for the team, but a late practice change set the car straight and prepared Jason for qualifying.  Late afternoon qualifying saw Hathaway post a 5th place starting position, the Team’s highest qualifying effort to date, starting inside row three for the 250 lap event.

“We tried a little a something different this week for qualifying and it worked pretty well.  We are proud to start in the 5ths pot and make a run for the front.” Hathaway said after qualifying.

Hathaway put down some awesome lap times as he found his rhythm and by lap 84 Hathaway was running 2nd. A pit stop on lap 101 gave Hathaway left side tires and 30 laps later right side tires.  With fresh tires Hathaway was 10th in the running order turning up the heat and working his way back up to the 7th spot. Hathaway left the pressure on as the laps wound down and made great passes on the 9, 4  and 27 cars.  With 25 laps to go Hathaway had an awesome restart and put his racing machine inside the top 5, lining himself up for a strong 4th place finish.

With the fourth place finish Hathaway and his #3 Snap-on Tools/Rockstar Energy Drink Dodge now sit 5th in the overall NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Championship.

“This is a tricky little racetrack and we had a good night. We qualified well and that certainly helped us to stay our front and keep precious track position.  We had an air gun jam during one of the pit stops and the crew did a great job getting me back out onto the track. We are excited to bring our Snap-on Tools/Rockstar Energy Drink Dodge home inside the top 5.” Said Hathaway after NASCAR post-race technical inspection.

Hathaway Records 2nd Top 10

June 13, 2010- Bowmanville, Ontario– Jason Hathaway, EHR/T3R and the #3 Snap-on Tools/Vortex Brake Pads Dodge were met by cloudy skies and extensive showers at Mosport International Raceway  this weekend for the  Vortex Brake Pads 200.

With questionable weather surrounding the race track, practice did not post the speeds and times that the team expected to see.  Qualifying later that afternoon was postponed due to the heavy rains.

The Team was on track Sunday morning and Hathaway qualified his #3 Snap-on Tools/Vortex Brake Pads Dodge 13th in a field of 24 cars.

The 51 lap race got underway under sunny skies and Hathaway started setting his rhythm getting around the 2.49 mile track.  Crew Chief Tyler Case brought the car in on lap 16 to top off the car’s fuel. Two laps later, the Team caught a break when a full course yellow flag came out and the Team’s pit crew were able to fly into action performing a fabulous 4 tire change. The Crew’s quick work helped Hathaway pick up 10 positions in the pits, going back out onto the track 7th in the running order.

As the race drew close to the end, Hathaway held off a number of cars, but with little time to make adjustments throughout the race, the handling of the car went away. When the checkered flag flew on the field Hathaway crossed the line in the 10th position having fought back from 14th in the few laps of the race.

“We missed the set up a little this weekend with all of the unstable weather and not being too sure what today’s weather was going to bring.  The crew did a great job on the 4 tire stop and the spots we picked up in the pits were awesome.  I’d also like to thank our great Team sponsor Vortex Brakes for sponsoring the race this weekend and supporting the Series. We are proud to carry their colours and represent them each and every event. “ Said Hathaway after the race.

Round three for EHR/T3R will be back on the familiar tight track at St Eustache, Quebec Saturday night under the lights on July 3,2010.
