Practice before the 2-race event was a quick 30 minutes.  The Team’s efforts in the shop prepping the car meant only minor tweaks on their race set up trackside. Hathaway drew the fifth place starting spot for the Motomaster 125.

Hathaway, with a pristine handling race car, worked his way up through the running order to take the lead on lap 47 of the race. He set a quick pace and stayed in the top 3 until taking the lead for the final time in the race on lap 79. He broke away from the rest of the pack with a full straightaway, 6-second lead, bringing home his 3rd victory of the 6-race series.

After a very successful season with 3 wins in 6 races, posting 5 top 5 finishes, 6 top 10 finishes and 393 laps lead, Hathaway dominated the 2020 season on track and was crowned the 2020 NASCAR Pinty’s Series FanCave Challenge Champion.

Hathaway was full of pride and emotion during the Championship ceremonies. “I can’t say enough about how proud I am of this Team and what we have accomplished this season. The shop prep was awesome, with countless hours put in by the guys during the week and on weekends, making my job easier to go out and win races. Our EHR group is so dedicated and loyal. Thanks to Kubota for their unwavering support during these unprecedented times as well as Total Lubricants Canada and Kugel Bearing.”

Team principal Ed Hakonson was also on hand for the Championship ceremonies at Jukasa. “Jay and the boys did a great job this season. The crew in the shop not only prepared Jay’s car but also helped to field 3 other teams. I think that really demonstrates their commitment to this team and to the sport during these trying times we are all facing. Congratulations to NASCAR on a successful 2020 season.”
